Minutes for Executive Meeting

The Executive meeting was chaired by our National Vice President Tata Mosongo Nanje.

The meeting began at 7.30 p.m with opening prayers by Tata Emmanuel Ikoe. This was followed by opening remarks by the National Vice President Tata Mosongo Nanje. On her part, the National Treasurer Iya Naomi Ebile mentioned that the National President Iya Dr. Clementine Nanje has suggested that the Tata James Namata will be our moderator for the Chicago 2018 National Convention, and we already know who the keynote speaker will be. The National Vice President mentioned that in their Washington D.C chapter only four people have opted to attend the convention thus far. The National Treasurer Iya Naomi Ebile mentioned that the Washington D.C chapter should prepare their songs for the convention and send it to the PRO Tata Victor Nanje and that with respect to the Georgia chapter, there were a lot of people who were going to attend the convention and also, the Georgia chapter will be in uniform which will comprise of a yellow T-shirt and their Georgia chapter “ Sanja”. She continued by saying that the Secretary General Tata Emmanuel Ikoe will present a report and the executive has to be on time before people start arriving.

In terms of the achievements of the Nanje administration, the executive agreed to talk about the 501 C(3), the national uniform, the humanitarian assistance program, the creation of Think-Tank Group, the Oroko Global Whatsapp Forum. Furthermore, it was noted that the national uniform will not be available this convention due to the fact that all the money required for the cost of production has not been raised.

Another issue discussed was the challenges faced by the Nanje administration, which comprises most especially of the humanitarian crisis in Oroko land. The PRO Tata Victor Nanje, mentioned that it was agreed that we will donate $100 each to help foster the humanitarian assistance program but that has not yield as expected, since we failed to raise the amount of money anticipated to kick start the program. However, it was also worth noting that the initial plan for the program which targeted some few villages during the onset of the crisis has change as time went by, which was also the reason for this failure. The PRO Tata Victor Nanje, also mentioned that he contacted the Houston chapter for a music they may want to use for the convention but no response, but that the Dallas chapter did send theirs to Tata Ebenezer Ekoi of the Chicago chapter. He said the President of the California chapter Tata Charles Mokwe said he will be coming to Chicago only if he get permission from work. The PRO also mentioned that he contacted the New York/New Jersey chapter but did not get a response. For the backdrops of the Chicago 2018 convention the National Treasurer Iya Naomi Ebile mentioned that Tuesday will be the last day to receive money for the backdrops.

The National President Iya Clementine Nanje joined the meeting later and mentioned that there supposed to be some amendments on the agenda for the convention which was sent to the executive for review. She continued by saying that there will be a guest speaker from Cameroon known as Tata Emmanuel Disame who will discuss and give us an insight about the crisis in Oroko land. The PRO also mentioned that Tata Goodwill Namaya will be presenting a short excerpt on the oil resources of Oroko land.

For the projects to be presented to the convention by the Nanje administration, Tata Efilo Ngoe mentioned that we can talk about the Oroko resource center which he further elaborated on by saying that many Orokans don’t know their history. The water project, medical supplies, Cocoa pesticides and insecticides, as well as an Oroko equity fund were amongst the projects we thought necessary to present at the convention.
